In this class, students will learn how to create hard-cover books with traditional Japanese visible stitching techniques. This type of stitching originated during the Edo Period in Japan and has been in use for hundreds of years, with different styles of decorative stitching letting individuality shine with this beautiful binding technique.
Over the course of the event, students will create their own book and become familiar with hard cover bookbinding, Japanese stab binding, and the skills to continue their practice at home.
