When I heard about Paige and Richie’s wedding celebration in Mystic, Connecticut, I was over the moon. My own family had been spending time in the region since my mom was a girl, so it was exciting to bring that shared love of coastal New England into the design of their custom letterpress invitation suite.
Sapphire blue letterpress on a thick white cotton stock, accented by silver touches throughout, reflected both the nautical roots of the region (the weekend kicked off aboard a boat for a sunset cruise of the sound!) and the stately elegance of the Branford House where the ceremony and reception took place (a custom line drawing of the estate features prominently on the invitation).
Subtle pops of silver in the invitation edging and a wax seal gave the suite a gentle shine. A translucent vellum gatefold wrap paired with floral elements on the wax seal and the envelope liner added a softer touch to the invitation design.
The detail card featured an illustrated isometric map of Mystic, the heart and soul of the wedding weekend. With the aerial view of the Mystic River into the sound, and the accompanying illustrations of the lighthouse, drawbridge, and historic boats, guests couldn’t help but be immersed in the charming, historic port.
