Lindsey described her wedding theme as "fall, floral, formal, and fun." It was more than fun to fill Lindsey and Sam's letterpress invitation suite full of personal details and whimsical touches to create a truly magical preview of their celebration.
The bespoke toile design is by far the standout feature of the suite, inspired by the bride's love of elaborate delicate vintage florals with a naturalist twist. Illustrations included birds, foxes, florals, trees, and clovers for a whimsical and romantic aesthetic that literally wove throughout their wedding; their place settings, table linens, and even the bridesmaids dresses included different blue and white toiles.
Printed in traditional blue and white on the envelope liner, the toile provided a gorgeous counterpoint to the forest green inner envelopes. We created a full color version of the design in their blue, green, and fox-orange color palette, printed on a translucent vellum wrap that enclosed the suite like a gift. It was tied together with a frayed-edge gold silk ribbon, and topped by a gold monogram wax seal for an extra dose of texture, luxury, and elegance.
Custom illustrations of all of their wedding venues, including the reception at the bride's family home overlooking the bay, adorned the weekend event insert, while the white ink on a sapphire blue card created the perfect backdrop for their tented "celebration under the stars" reception card.
And of course it wouldn't be complete without a nod to the couple's fur babies, with sweet portraits of their beloved pair of Cavalier King Charles spaniels completing the design.
Lindsey and Sam inspired our first toile pattern, and we're excited to do more!
