Workshops & Special Events
We are excited to offer a wide variety of workshops, readings, and other special events in our studio. Let's share some space, get creative, and start some great conversations together!
Intro to Brush Lettering
Saturday, May 11th 11:00am-12:30pm, $70
Join Sip and Script for a special Mother’s Day weekend morning of pretty lettering! Our friends have teamed up with one of their favorite brands, Brea Reese, to bring you a fun and creative event to learn the art of brush lettering using both brush markers and paint brushes. If you’ve always admired beautiful stationery, handwritten signage used at weddings or in home decor, or just love all hand crafts, after attending this workshop you’ll leave feeling confident to implement this art form into your own daily life. Bring your mom (or treat her!) and get lettering!
No experience is necessary. You’ll cover all the basics with all the materials, prepping and mixing watercolors, and lettering through our brush alphabet. In addition to the supplies included in your Brush Lettering kit, we will have Brea Reese water brushes to sample.
Pretty in Ink!
Saturday May 11th 1:30-3:00pm, $75
Join Sip and Script for a special Pretty In Ink calligraphy class to advance your calligraphy practice!
If you’ve recently learned the basics of calligraphy and are now looking to expand your knowledge of the craft, this is the perfect event to take your skills to the next level with your dip pen. In this class we will cover the basics of mixing custom inks, how to add fancy flourishes to your letters, developing your own lettering style, and introduce you to new nibs with an oblique pen. If you have specific calligraphy projects in mind, we will be able to help you plan for those and also offer insight into starting calligraphy businesses for those who are interested.
If you’ve taken our beginner class, you’re totally ready for this one too! Experience recommended, but not required. Class includes 1.5 hours of instruction and demonstration, our Pretty in Ink calligraphy kit (two nibs, colored ink pot, advanced letter guides/materials, an oblique pen holder), and all writing materials. Everything is yours to keep at the end of the session!
